In Somali author Salma Ibrahim’s 2025 novel, a young woman takes a life-changing trip to an alternate timeline.

This is a novel about how the past continues to haunt the present, and the impact of colonialism, patriarchy, and capitalism on ‘normalizing a certain kind of womanhood.’
British-Nigerian author Irenosen Okojie’s 2025 novel, Curandera, spans centuries and continents.
