Generate Leads Join The Republic as a Business Development Associate

The Republic is hiring an outgoing, dynamic, driven, client-facing Business Development Associate to join our Lagos team. The ideal candidate will have a combination of account management and sales experience since this role will utilize both skill sets. The Business Development Associate will be the first contact that potential clients will have with The Republic and this person will be heavily involved in the process that sells The Republic subscriptions and wider corporate services to companies as well as schools and universities. Grow and retain active accounts while you build and maintain strong client relationships;
Onboard new clients and ensure successful set-up of these new accounts;
Interact with the client about administering and growing the account;
Lead a fast-paced environment: achieve a sales cycle of 30-90 days;
Follow and apply industry trends as they pertain to your clients;
Problem-solve and respond to clients in an effective manner;
Work independently and autonomously; and
Communicate with The Republic’s numerous stakeholders.


It’s okay to not meet 100 per cent of these requirements! We’re primarily looking for people who meet some of these requirements and are motivated to learn new technologies and expand their skill set. The Business Development Associate position is one of our more senior roles, aimed at recent graduates or youth corpers who possess:

⎈ Demonstrable extensive interest in The Republic;
Exceptional BSc qualifications;
1-3 years of account management and/or sales experience;
Goal-oriented and results-driven; you have exceeded goals and objectives in past positions;
Excellent organization, time management and follow-through skills;
Ability to build and effectively manage and service up to 30+ new accounts by 2020;
Adapt to stress in a deadline-driven environment;
Effective communication skills that strengthen client relationships with the proven ability to communicate in a creative and persuasive manner;
Outgoing personality with the ability to talk to people you do not know;
Outstanding customer service skills;
Intermediate-advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel; and
Experience with (or alternative CRM tools) is preferred
