The Republic is currently looking for two Supporting Editors to join its all-volunteer staff. Such persons should have interest in African affairs and the multiple ways in which modern media can lend to impactful storytelling. Successful candidates will work across editorial and research teams, supporting editors and fellows through fact-checking, coordinating submissions, organising events and developing Timeline, The Republic‘s database on Nigerian history.
Applicants should:
⎈ Currently be enrolled in an undergraduate programme with plans to further their education upon graduating (specialization in History, Development or Africa-related fields is highly preferred);
⎈ Have a record of high academic achievement with strong writing potential;
⎈ Be able to work remotely and as part of a fast-paced team;
⎈ Be up to date with global, African and Nigerian affairs; and
⎈ Be able to commit up to 5 hours a week
